Project Description:
During
our employment with Summit
Engineering we were fortunate to have the opportunity to design the
Magoffin County Court Annex facility in Salyersville, Kentucky.
This
project was designed to give Magoffin County Government a
new home of its own. The old county
courthouse was razed to make room for a new judicial center and the
county
offices had been in the rented space of a local shopping center for
several years. On the first floor, this new county administration
building contains space for the
County Court Clerk, the PVA Office, and the Sheriff’s Department.
The second
floor houses the County Judge/Executive, County Attorney,
Treasurer, Waste Management Office, and Fiscal Court Chambers. Unfinished space on the second floor is planned for a new
911 Office for the county. The site of the new administration building is on a
vacant lot between the new courts building and Salyersville City Hall.
The site design includes a landscaped plaza to provide public open space, enhanced views and access to
all three buildings.
